Clapping (4 Michael)

first off, I know that most people on earth have been effected either negatively or
positively by this man.

I wrote this to express my subjective opinion on how I feel about his untimely death.

There is a Roger Bonair-Agard quote that inspired me to start this that goes
"His blood is on all our hands" (about Michael Jackson)...

Clapping (4 Michael) by IL. Subliminal

1)
When two hands clasp, embrace,
the friction secretes energy,
Ki’s of heat opening potential
we might have historically harnessed
in ancient sands of
Imhotep mastery,
but now we,
people Black camped
concentrate on consumption,
constipating in reverse.
We hardly know no trade.
We hardly trade no barter.
We mostly wait on couches,
potato baked,
suckling a tubes glass gland,
milking maternal materialism.

2)
Michael was an angel,
with Genitalia,
that he pulled, a lot,
while performing.
Possessed by the spotlight.
Stripping revolutionary,
rotate walking on satellites police only waxed
wanting weeded transmutation
they will never wave-
winged like he
held households,
waning.

3)
Energy never disappears,
never dissipates,
only diverts direction,
even inadvertedly inverse.
Vacuums,
holed hurricanes,
tornado eyes all excrete
extreme implosive circumstance
because of
negatively enforced inertia.

4)
Michael was an angel,
with clipped wings.
The only blues man to ever have his soul
cross-roaded
without his say so.
There is always a reason,
a carrot string,
pulling toward the third railroading
6 train
tracking the ultimate con.
What if the confidence was placed
by
a child’s love,
a child’s need for acceptance,
belonging,
to a family heroine syringe roped to the sound of
audience appreciation?

5)
“Childhood has become the great casualty of modern living,
all around us we are producing scores of kids,
who have not had the joy,
who have not been afforded the right,
who have not been allowed the freedom
of knowing what its like to be a kid.”

In 2001,
Michael Jackson said this to a very quiet
and attentive Oxford audience
after which of course,
they clapped.

{THIS IS THE SPEECH WHERE HE SAID THIS}

this is how I want to remember Mr. Jackson.

Be peaceful (I hope you watched these and listened).

Ol. Skool...

95th and Howard: A cup of change

IL. Subliminal - 95th and Howard: a cup of change mixtape (mixed by DJ SeaNile)

This is an album that is in the form of a mixtape, because frankly, I WANT YOU TO LISTEN TO THE WHOLE DAMNED THING!!!!!!

It has Chicago production (unless otherwise stated)
by Mike Smoov (of Cleveland), Scottfree, Kid Fresh (Maryland), DJ Tapedek (REST IN POWER), Custom, Radius, ILL Legit (New Jersey, Columbia Grad), DJ Freezerock, Lokua, Montana Macks, Blended Babies, and Portishead
(no bullshit, they left a beat open for download on their myspace a year ago)

It took me 7 years to compile the right beats, the words, the feeling, and ultimately,
I just want people to listen.

Special shots go to Idris Goodwin, Jus Love (of DLP), Jyroscope for their feature verses. Ugly for always havin' beats for me whether he likes how I used them or not.
Get-Along-Gang (Drunken Monkeee, Neo, Ill Legit, Camoflage Jones, Tweak Central Academy) for putting me thru the types of adventures that would teach me how to perform correctly.
Super Heroes of Sound (Itch 13, Aquil, Insight, Seemore Perspective) for always supporting.
Young Chicago Authors for helping me pay my bills and giving me great mentors who made me a better writer.
DJ Sean Doe for showing me the difference between good and bad music.
Tomorrow Kings for being my friends first, and then bein' an organized syndicate ;0)

Letterman/Terminator

TERMINATOR WAS BULLSHIT!?!?!?!

Ain't no way (spoiler alert)
Skynet would NOT create a human hybrid cyborg who would be able to
rebel against its programming and save John Conner.

I know it was a parallel. A man from the past, as oppose to a man/machine
from the future, saving him.

I know it was a parallel, dude was human instead of robotic.

But that shit was bullshit,
and it felt like it could happen in 5 years,
not like it was science fiction.

McG need to stick to music videos, real shit.
Charlie's Angels is more his speed.
_____________________________________________________________

Leave Letterman alone,

no I haven't heard what he said,
yes, it was prolly full of shit, sexist and shovenistic.

People are calling him the new Don Imus,
it ain't even that serious,
the media just want people to watch Conan.

Just watch both like I do, and don't fuck with the Commercials,
or don't watch either like I do, and go outside and freestyle or something.

The shit ain't that serious.

Maybe I should hear what he said...

Last night...

I learned that,

I have so farther to go.

My free style gotta get better.

Bottom line.

And I gotta make my crew put a foot in my ass if not,

but I also gotta put a foot in their ass if they're not on their shit.

Lets see,

I talked to an X who dumped me freshie year of college,
and I came to terms with that.

I realized that I can't afford this rap shit if I'm not working,
and I think I found a job connect :0)

I seen this pimp ass nigga, who I don't trust, but I do respect,
and he said holla at him about some business shit,
even though his best friend just got out of jail for being a street pharmacutical rep.

I hope that nigga didn't drop the soap.

I went to an open mic, and felt ok about just bein' me, no gimmics.

I went to another open mic, and I backed down from the perfect opportunity to battle
this dude and get my rep up...

I realized that I gotta get better.

Today is another chance :0)

June 13th, 2009 = SUMMER TIME HUSTLENOMICS!!!!

this is where you will find my next album.

All of the music will be original, but redone samples that either inspired me,
or that I liked since starting this project (at 18 yrs old).

I know now that alot of samples will not only get you sued,
but publicists and investors don't want anything to do with samples because they simply cost too much.

So, that is why the first one (As any good dealer knows)
is FREE.

JUNE 18TH, 7PM, 2009.

UNTIL THEN, SEE ME IN THE STREETS TODAY!!!!

SUMMER TIME HUSTLENOMICS!!!!!

Saw the Wolverine bootleg...

THAT SHIT WAS FUNNY THAN A MUFUCKA!!!!

If you haven't seen it, watch THE BOOTLEG! You wil get your money's worth...

Even in comedic form though, Star Trek whoops its naturally healing factored ass.

New Chicago videos!!!

Kid Static + Yea Big (Static is a good dude, I worked security with him last summer)

Ill Legit's video (gotta respect the sick niggas)

Ill Legit feat. Wes Restless - Too Familiar (prod. by Dario) from Nick Castle on Vimeo.

Yeah, I gotta get my video game up!!!

Man, it was a crazy day today...

I came to the conclusion that I might need to utilize this Blog as a journal instead of just postin' videos.

In either which case,
first off,
I feel a personal renassance comin' on.
So I'm just puttin' myself into my own lane.
If anyone don't like it, just know,
good :)
I need more haters :)

Second,
I really like the Chopin Theater.
It was the first place I went to when I found out about
Young Chicago Authors (.org).

One of my co-worker/mentors named Robbie Q,
he had his 7th Encyclopedia show (maybe I should find a link, maybe later, its 2 in the morning).
and that shit is an ingenius avenue for the comedic/theatric growth of what is known
as performance poetry.

Next season is gon' be raw.

In either which case, I gotta start up this Hip-Hop Theater joint,
so at the very least I have a place to do my one man show.

I think there might be a market for it.
Hip hop is adult contemporary music, and there are alot of artists
who jump between categories so it might be a good thing to put up/promote.

Yeah,
so I also heard this group/emcee named 5-1 today @ The Darkroom.
He sampled that ol' dub track Lucifer (famously sampled by Kanye).

This new shit is way more raw than Kanye's (however sacriligious that sounds).

Also, speakin' of Kanye,
he made a video for Paranoid (my favorite song off the album).
I don't like the video.

Its too avant garde for me. The song is happy, even though its called Paranoid,
and he went too much with the feeling of the subject matter and not the feeling of the song.

I'm sure he did this on purpose, he's a jerk.

In either which case, Tomorrow Kings is the shit (I gotta say that once a blog).

I got a show comin' up, I'm a post the plugger tomorrow along with some other shit.
Oh and Dan Sullivan (Poet/Bartender/Irish Vegetarian) has a blog website "Cureforyourrallies.com",
I might add that to the link list.

Aiight, thats it, I'm goin' to sleep.

I might start postin' poetry on here too.
